Spadina Station

Why "Spadina Station"?

It's all about location, location, location.

Marlena, Stephen and original tenor Jay Wilson met while singing together in the Miles Nadal JCC Choir, a vibrant community choir that rehearses and performs across the street from Spadina subway station in downtown Toronto.

In 2013, they were joined by Jane Miller, an exciting singer, actor, songwriter and arranger, who has delighted audiences in previous groups, and in a cappella musicals that she created. By adding equal amounts of talent, harmony, and passion, an exciting new singing group was born. When Jay stepped down in 2016, the talented Tyler Smith brought new energy to our merry band.

For three years, the JCC very generously supported our group by giving us free rehearsal space at the centre. There, our group incubated our unique, cheeky a cappella sound.

So we simply had to call ourselves Spadina Station.
